2degrees Net Zero

2degrees made a bold statement on climate action with a melting 2-tonne ice sculpture in the heart of Auckland. The “Answer the Call” activation captured public attention and reinforced their commitment to achieving Net Zero by 2040.

Orbit supported 2degrees in delivering a powerful public activation in Auckland to announce their industry-first, SBTi-validated Net Zero by 2040 target. The centrepiece of the campaign was a striking 2-tonne ice sculpture installed in Takutai Square, Britomart—made from 2,500 litres of rainwater and embedded with ringing mobile phones. As the sculpture melted throughout the day, it symbolised the urgency of climate change and the need for immediate action.

Designed to stop people in their tracks, the activation combined art, technology, and climate data to provoke thought and inspire engagement. With QR code interactions, earned media coverage, and social storytelling, the campaign reached over 10 million people and positioned 2degrees as a bold leader in corporate climate responsibility. The installation served as a visual and emotional call to action, reinforcing 2degrees’ commitment to sustainability and its role in driving meaningful change.
