ANZ Love Stinks

Experiential

ANZ’s “Love Stinks” pop-up used smelly roses to spotlight the dangers of romance scams.

Orbit supported ANZ in delivering a bold and disruptive Valentine’s Day activation in Auckland, designed to raise awareness about the growing threat of romance scams. The one-day pop-up flower shop, Love Stinks, featured elegant long-stemmed roses with a twist—they smelled fishy. These “Scammers Blooms” symbolised how something that looks perfect on the surface can hide something rotten underneath.

Visitors received cheeky Valentine’s cards with scam prevention tips, sparking conversations and encouraging Kiwis to recognise the red flags of online romance fraud. The activation drew crowds, generated national media coverage, and significantly boosted engagement with ANZ’s scam awareness resources—turning a day of love into a powerful moment of education and protection.
